The Eisenhower White House limousine was customized by Hess & Eisenhardt with chassis number 557555865. The presidential limo will be among 1,200 collectible cars that goes up for sale at the Auburn Fall weekend in Indiana.

The 1955 Cadillac was really commissioned to serve the then First Lady Eisenhower and also be used for formal services and parades when needed. The car was modified by Hess & Eisenhardt to become a pillarless hardtop limousine which gives photographers a great view. It also has a sliding sunroof that allowed the president and his wife to stand so they can be seen by the public. A grab rail was added to lessen the strain of the occupant when standing during a parade.

This presidential limousine was in the garage of the White House during the term of President Eisenhower. In 1988 it was bought by a French Presidential car collector Olivier Delafon and was purchased by its latest owner in 2006.

The presidential limo is expected to sell between $175,000 thru $225,000 during the auction.

Other expected head-turners during the auction will be a 1933 Cadillac Convertible Coupe that was used for the award winning movie Sea Biscuit, Johnny Paycheck’s 1970 Cadillac limousine, and a 1938 Packard Landaulet customized for Doris Duke.

The engineers involved in the project had to consider a lot of things an decided to add the two extra doors for purposes of practicality. The rigidity of the car was also a big subject of discussion since they had to move the central pillar of the ride.

Inside the car, the designers installed a leather clad dividing wall to isolate the passenger cabin. Buyers will have options for the seat arrangement. You can opt for the second row to face the front or you can turn it around to face the third row of seats. If you want more space, you can also opt not to have the second row.

Buyers can also pick if you want a petrol or a diesel engine. The line of options includes the 350 CGI, the E500 BlueEfficiency, and the E250 BlueEfficiency.

Binz is known for applying their magic tricks to vehicle so that they will fit their roles as limos, fire-fighting vehicles, hearses, and ambulances.

Then again, I guess if my fiance had access to this kind of killing machine, I might be cowed into doing WHATEVER HE SAYS, EVER.

At least it matches her dress, I guess.
