A Series 75 1955 Cadillac Presidential limousine that was used during the Eisenhower era that has been in slumber in Europe for more than twenty years is back in the United States to go through an auction handled by RM Auctions.
The Eisenhower White House limousine was customized by Hess & Eisenhardt with chassis number 557555865. The presidential limo will be among 1,200 collectible cars that goes up for sale at the Auburn Fall weekend in Indiana.
The 1955 Cadillac was really commissioned to serve the then First Lady Eisenhower and also be used for formal services and parades when needed. The car was modified by Hess & Eisenhardt to become a pillarless hardtop limousine which gives photographers a great view. It also has a sliding sunroof that allowed the president and his wife to stand so they can be seen by the public. A grab rail was added to lessen the strain of the occupant when standing during a parade.
This presidential limousine was in the garage of the White House during the term of President Eisenhower. In 1988 it was bought by a French Presidential car collector Olivier Delafon and was purchased by its latest owner in 2006.
The presidential limo is expected to sell between $175,000 thru $225,000 during the auction.
Other expected head-turners during the auction will be a 1933 Cadillac Convertible Coupe that was used for the award winning movie Sea Biscuit, Johnny Paycheck’s 1970 Cadillac limousine, and a 1938 Packard Landaulet customized for Doris Duke.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class limousine was unwrapped last month by limousine maker Binz in all of its 5,979 mm stretched glory.
The Southern Germany based firm created a 6-door ride out of the Mercedes-Benz and increased its seating capacity by putting three rows of uber comfortable seats. The stretched limo is about 1.11 meters longer than the original make of the car.
The engineers involved in the project had to consider a lot of things an decided to add the two extra doors for purposes of practicality. The rigidity of the car was also a big subject of discussion since they had to move the central pillar of the ride.

If it can outrun the lions, then I guess it’s pretty cool.

As a chick, I cannot imagine ever agreeing to get married with this big bad monster anywhere near my wedding.
Then again, I guess if my fiance had access to this kind of killing machine, I might be cowed into doing WHATEVER HE SAYS, EVER.
At least it matches her dress, I guess.

Now that we have talked a little bit about modified limousines, let’s go ahead and talk about how you can find them and how much they cost. One thing that you need to remember is that limousines in general are going to cost a lot of money – not matter which way you twist it. If you keep that in mind, you will be better off.
Next, you want to make sure that you truly, truly do know that limousine that you are getting is modified. If you are paying extra to have a pimped out limo, you want to make sure that the limo itself is pimped out – this might require you seeing it.
Finally, remember that getting a pimped out limousine is going to be worth it simply because it is going to look chic – and awesome!

Now that we have talked a little bit about gold limos, let’s go ahead and move onto another color that I am not exactly crazy about. That is sea green. Now, to me, there is absolutely no reason in the world to have a limo this color. I mean, honestly, where would you drive this particular limousine to? Nowhere right?
Well, there are some places and that could be for Easter. Pastel colors are very, very Easter-like and they are certainly a great way to really get into the season. If you are driving up to a high-end Easter egg hunt or even an Easter party, you might want to be a little festive.
Other than that, I can not imagine driving a limousine like this one anywhere else – I mean, it’s sea green!

The color of the limo that you get is very, very important a lot of the time because that is what people are going to see first. Did you know that there are a ton of different colors out there for limos and you can pretty much get a limo dipped into any color that you want … it might cost you though.
One color that seems to be very, very popular as of late is gold. To be honest, I am not a huge, huge fan of gold but a lot of other people are and that is why they have come up with gold limos.
Of course, this is not real gold, but it is a goldish color and that is enough right? If you want a real gold limo … it is going to cost you a heck of a lot of money.

Your first step is to find out what limo companies in your area are reputable, and then start calling to see what requirements you have to meet in order to get a job with them.
Next up, double check at the requirements you have to meet in order to get licensed in your state. Again, requirements vary; depending on where you live, you might have to take training courses, while other states require the passing of a written exam as well as a fee.
You need to polish up your driving skills. You need to know defensive driving maneuvers. You need to know about regulations for transport. You also need to be knowledgeable about the area in which you are driving, such as about shortcuts and fun attractions.
